It was the first new century
In one hundred years
And when I felt like should cry
I laughed away my tears
The end of a millenium
We waited long, long time
To see the brave new world
And the mountain we would climb
The things I tried to comprehend
As a child, remain a mistery
But there’s nothing you need to defend
There’s nothing great about me
All I will ever believe
Is the pounding if my heart
Though it doesn’t answer question
That just the way it goes
All I will ever have faith in
Is beating in my chest
It can’t predict tomorrow
Or just to turn around
